The island of Boracay
Boracay Island is the perfect place for one to encounter a diverse cultural exchange while immersing oneself in a TEFL program. Meet people from all parts of the world in one of the most unique places in the world. Imagine this! You arrive at Aklan or Caticlan airport. You are picked up by our private minibus service that brings you through lush tropical forests to the port of Caticlan. You then take a 15 minute boat ride in one of the local fishermen's' boats across crystal clear blue water full of multi-coloured coral and a multitude of tropical fish. After you get off the boat, you will be driven to the EBC campus accommodations. A lot of foreign tourist make Boracay a yearly destination and because of this, there are many who chose to stay on and live here. Even the locals love this place. Boracay can be found on the northwestern tip of Panay in Aklan, a province on the Visayas island known for its colourful Ati-Atihan festival. It boast of all the elements of a tropical heaven: crystal blue waters, powder white sand, liberal doses of tropical palms and flowering plants, and a healthy and diverse marine life.

Work on your tan, read a book, relax and have a massage. White Beach, probably the most famous stretch in the country, features bright, fine sand and clear, shallow waters. Spend the last hours of the day at any of Boracay's bars and discos. A good drink in hand while dancing on the sand with a few brilliant fireflies. TEFL jobs in the PhilippinesThe EBC TEFL course training centre in Boracay has contacts with local schools and international schools. Subject to availability, you may get offered an English teaching job by one of them at the end of the course. A few facts about teaching in the Philippines
It is easy to find teaching jobs if you have an accredited certificate. Boracay, and Philippines in general, has a growing economy, and there is a very strong demand for the English language. Especially in Boracay, which is one of the primary international centres for tourism in the Philippines. The ability to speak English is a necessity because more than 70% of the city's population is employed in the tourism sector. In fact, the number of Filipinos who want to learn English grows daily. There are local schools, international schools and language schools in Boracay itself, and then countless public and private schools, in the rest of the Philippines. The Philippines attracts many students from countries in South East Asia and the Far East that want to learn English. As a result, there are thousands of EFL schools all over the Philippines offering English language courses to Koreans, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese etc. students. As the Philippines is a hub for accessing many other parts of South East Asia and the Far East, it's also a great place to study and then go and work in other parts of the continent. Jobs abound in South Korea, South Vietnam, China, Taiwan and Japan. Best of all, EBC has many contacts with schools in these countries. |

Visas and flightsVisasAll students will have to get a tourist visa before traveling to Philippines. "I've been told that I don't need a visa to enter the Philippines, why do I have to get one?" Whilst this is true for many countries, the limit on staying in the Philippines without a visa is a maximum of 21 days (3 weeks). The EBC course runs for 4 weeks so you'll need to get one. For most people, obtaining an extended visa is not a problem
