Tita Ashton - Director
Tita has lived, worked and studied in the major cities of the world namely: New York, San Francisco, Manila, Paris, London and Madrid. She has been in corporate business for the last 20 years and she holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), a Masters Degree in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. She has attended the following universities: New York University, University of Greenwich and Maryknoll College.
The majority of her career has been in Investment Banking, Finance, Business Consultancy, Information Technology and Telecommunications. In
1995, EBC y Asociados Idiomas was founded when she saw the need for a language consultancy staffed by teachers who were not just trained educators but who also possessed actual corporate experience.
In 2002 to meet her own company's need for qualified EFL teachers, the EBC International TEFL Certificate course was launched. As she continuously recruits EFL teachers for her multinational clientele, she knows exactly what the job market requires and as such the EBC TEFL International Certificate was designed and developed to be an intensive, practical and hands-on programme. She brings to the programme her EFL experience gained from both the "Buyer" and the "Seller" viewpoints.
Jim Ross - Course Coordinator
Jim is an ex-Wall Street and City of
London Business Consultant, he's also a trained teacher with a B. Ed. in English.
Over the last 20 years he has held senior management positions with the
following blue-chip companies in the banking, finance and manufacturing sectors:
ABN AMRO, SBC Warburg, Morgan Stanley, Seiko, Bell Communications, Merrill Lynch, MHT,
Lucas World Services and BBVA.
Jim brings a wealth of knowledge to EBC
pertaining to the day-to-day management and performance of the training
centre. His technical knowledge of how successful businesses are run, plus his
implementation of quality control procedures, continually ensure that you get
up-to-date, quality, value for money training.
William Hayward - Madrid TEFL Training Centre Coordinator
William was born in London and has spent his growing up years between the UK, the USA and Spain.
William is bilingual in English and Spanish, and is a permanent resident of Madrid, making him an invaluable source of information and advice for our course students in Madrid.
William's hobbies include photography, golf and show jumping. He
also loves to travel and (as he works in Madrid) dance the night
away in discos.
Being young, dynamic and dedicated to his job, William is always ready to help students have a good time in Madrid.
Lola Pita - Buenos Aires TEFL Training Centre Coordinator
Lola is a native born "Porteña".
She has worked at different administrative levels in a wide range of industry sectors. She brings to the programme a good mix comprising: knowledge of English and administration.
Her understanding of learning and how it is carried out in different cultural settings, an important factor in her role as administrative frontline person of our EBC TEFL programme in Buenos Aires.
In addition to her language and work experience, Agustina has grown up in Buenos Aires which makes her a great source of local and national knowledge.
Anna Tsoumeni - Chania TEFL Training Centre Coordinator
Born in Athens, Anna studied Food Production Management as well as
Photography before moving to Crete in 1989.
Her involvement in the tourist industry resulted in her studying
English as a foreign Language as well as attending courses in
teaching children with learning disabilities.
Since then she has worked in a number of private foreign language
schools until 2002 when she opened a language school with Olga Mc
Lean. Apart from teaching, she is involved with many other aspects
of the language centre as well as the administrative side.
Khun Duk - Phuket TEFL Training Centre Coordinator
Khun Duk has been the Phuket School Manager and Office Administrator since the school opened. She is a very outgoing and friendly person who is always willing to assist students. She is currently studying for her BA in English. She has assisted in running children’s English Summer Camps. When she has the opportunity she loves to spend time in the classroom assisting Primary and High School students.
She was instrumental in opening the school and liaises with the Thai Ministry of Education on a regular basis. Her hobbies include reading, swimming and eating out.
Laurent Choquart - Modane TEFL Training Centre Manager
Laurent is the School Manager and Office Administrator of TEFL Savoie. He is from Soissons, near Paris, and is bilingual in English and French. He spent 20 years as a professional fireman with specialities in the training and teaching of theory and practical activity divisions. His organisational skills and experience in teaching are well put to use in his position in the school and his ability to keep a cool head at all times is what guarantees a problem-free TEFL course with us in France!
Laurent is also a volunteer in the association "The Language Café des Langues", which is a French and English immersion language school for children and adults in the Alps, and deals with the administrative and organisational aspects of it.
He has travelled around Europe, Africa and the USA and is a talented sportsman. He is French which makes him invaluable to our school and to students who need advice and information about the country.
Vicki Swart - Amman TEFL Training Centre Coordinator
Vicki is a native English speaker from California.
She went to Jordan in 1987 to study Arabic and fell in love with the people and the country, and has lived there ever since.
She has over 30 years of administration experience in a variety of industry sectors in both the USA and Jordan. Vicki is also a certified and experienced EFL/ESL instructor. Her administrative and EFL teaching backgrounds make her well suited to the role of coordinating the EBC TEFL course in Amman.
