British Council teaching English certificate recognition
The British Council accepts teaching certificates that meet the following criteria:
- The certificate is externally moderated by a reputable organisation (usually an examination board or university)
- The course has at least 100 contact hours
- The course has at least 6 hours of observed teaching practice
Most TEFL courses fail to meet British Council standards on point 1.
