TESOL TEFL course
Teaching practice
What your employers will expect
Almost all reputable employers will expect that the certificate course you have taken includes teaching practice classes given to non-English speakers. Most on-line and distance learning qualifications lack a teaching practice module and this is their main weakness when it comes to finding work.
Teaching practice sessions
The EBC course gives you the skills you need to get quality EFL jobs throughout the world. Our course provides practical, hands-on training and focuses strongly on real teaching practice sessions observed by course tutors. 24 hours of teaching practice sessions
The course includes 24 hours of teaching practice,
- 8 hours observing experienced teachers,
- 8 hours rehearsing your plans,
- 8 hours teaching classes of non-English speakers at all levels.
Your classes
Your students are local residents that have a keen interest in learning English.
The 8, 1 hour classes teaching non-English speakers are arranged so that you teach to at least 2 groups of beginner, 2 groups of intermediate and 2 groups of advanced students. The remaining 2 classes are allocated at random but they will also be taught to beginner, intermediate or advanced students. The first 6 classes that count towards the final grade are observed by a rotation of the EBC TEFL course trainers. The final 2 sessions will be observed in the event of a borderline pass/fail situation.
Teaching practice is observed and critiqued. Feedback is always provided by your TEFL course trainer so that you know how you are progressing.
Your practice helps
EBC does not charge for the teaching practice you give during the course. Some TEFL training companies charge reduced rates for people attending classes given by trainee teachers.
The teaching practice you give during the EBC TEFL course is invaluable in helping people improve their lives.
The non-English speaking students that attend our classes are warm, friendly people that truly appreciate the effort you make. You'll probably end up making some local friends as well, as our non-English speaking students treat their classes as both an educational and a social event.
EBC strives to give something back to our community through education.
