Admissions
EBC is an equal opportunity educational institution and prides itself on ensuring diversity within its student body.
EBC accepts and enrolls students continuously during the year. The admissions staff treat each application carefully, evaluating personal as well as intellectual qualities, and making every effort to be thorough, sensitive and fair.
Our goal is to bring together groups with: high academic ability, professional experience and a variety of backgrounds, particular interests, accomplishments and aspirations. EBC offers a residential course where students have much to offer and to learn from each other.
Minimum entry requirements
Our entry requirements are stricter than most TEFL Certificate courses, because we want to attract quality rather than quantity. We believe that the best people with the best training get the best jobs.
EBC requires you to be at least 21 and to either have a degree or a minimum of 5 years work experience. Almost all other courses including CELTA and Trinity will accept 18 year old high school graduates.
Why does EBC have such a high entry requirement?
We know that the job market will almost immediately hire someone who is 21 or older, has a degree and/or 5 years work experience and has a quality TEFL Certificate like ours. We don't want anyone who takes our course to suffer the lack of job offer frustrations others have suffered after taking other certificate courses.
We accept the fact that stricter entry requirements will attract people that are more demanding and have higher expectations. Indeed many of our students have had Masters and to date we've had several PhD students. We have proved that the EBC International TEFL Certificate course meets both higher demands and expectations.
For the quality and range of services plus all of the support that EBC gives, you'll be hard pressed to find a better value-for-money course that also includes lifetime career support.
